For
all-out, off-pavement cycling, the West Desert
is criss-crossed with primitive roads and trails. Remember,
water sources are virtually nonexistent. Plan ahead for
food, water, repairs, and vehicle support.
The
steep, 66-mile-long Nebo Loop in the Uinta
National Forest is challenging on a bicycle, but the experience
of conquering it is worth every bit of effort.
The
Paiute ATV Trail, 200 miles of mountains,
canyons and deserts, is open to bicyclists as well as
all-terrain-vehicle users.
The
Fish Lake Loop beginning near the Fish Lake
Lodge, provides forested scenery access to pristine high
elevation terrain, and unmatched views.
