If
the saying, "the way to a man's or woman's heart is through
their stomach," then Park City's the perfect place to
fall in love. No matter which activities you're here to
enjoy: mountain biking, hiking, golfing, gallery browsing,
fishing, shopping - they'll all be enhanced by the fantastic
selection of edible delights available in town.
Having
your appetite pampered in Park City shouldn't be a concern.
With 106 restaurants in our town of 6,900 residents, you
can virtually span the gastronomical globe without leaving
the borders of our beautiful city. (And you'd be amazed
to know how many local restaurants and chefs have been
lauded with national awards and rankings from the country's
top food and travel magazines, festivals, guide books
and competitions.)
The
variety of food types, restaurant atmospheres and prices
in Park City will make you wish there were time for more
than three meals a day! Gourmet European, Southwestern
barbecue, nouvelle cuisine, Cajun, Mediterranean, Thai,
Japanese, Chinese, Vietnamese, Italian fare as well as
American bistro, burger joint, or steakhouse can all be
found within minutes of the town's most popular recreational
spots.
For
the seasoned traveler, Park City will rival fine foods
and wines offered from New York to Paris - but serve it
up in the casual Park City atmosphere. With over 600 flights
a day in and out of Salt Lake City, Park City restaurants
offer the freshest produce, seafood and meats available
anywhere. Restaurant atmospheres ranging from modern high-tech
to vintage wooden ceiling beams allow diners to feel they're
traveling from one country to another, or from one century
to another, without ever leaving Park City's comfortable
beauty. Don't worry about bringing a tie — even the most
elegant of Park City eateries welcome casual mountain
attire.
Although
we're a town steeped in history, our culinary professionals
keep up with current trends. Local and national coffee
houses abound for those who like their espresso, cappuccinos
and double lattes. Two microbreweries offer an eclectic
selection of home brews, with local names as intriguing
as the variety of flavors. The Taste of Park City food
festival held in July offers a sampling of many Park City
restaurants all in one stroll down lower Main Street.
Visitors
with hearty appetites but weary bodies can order take-out
service from many of Park City's restaurants. With one
phone call and a quick ride on the town's free shuttle
bus system, tired travelers can enjoy the likes of jambalaya;
Maryland crab cakes; Moo Goo Gai Pan; polenta lasagna
with wild mushrooms, spinach, ricotta and parmesan; tenderloin
of elk; or roasted corn risotto with spicy grilled Caribbean
shrimp, all within the comfort of their hotel room or
condominium. Too tired to move at all? Quick and easy
restaurant-to-room delivery service is also available.
Because
Park City's inviting summer climate draws visitors of
all ages, restaurants are prepared to satisfy little appetites
as well. Children's menus, available at most local dining
spots, feature small-sized selections flavored to appease
both discriminating toddlers and more experimental youngsters.
