Many ski towns offer only skiing and snowboarding. That's definitely not the case in Park City. The winter sports enthusiast can do a lot more than simply ski or snowboard here, such as dashing through the snow in a horse-drawn sleigh, ice skating in a quaint village setting, flying high above town in a hot-air balloon or revving up a snowmobile for a thrilling ride into the backcountry.

Park City UtahCROSS-COUNTRY SKIING: Whether skating around a groomed track or savoring the solitude of the backcountry, Park City offers the Nordic skier satisfying choices. The White Pine Touring Center has 18km of groomed track while the Hi-Ute Ranch offers 15 km of track. Nearby in Midway, The Homestead Resort offers of skating and traditional track skating on 12 km. Also, the Norwegian Outdoor Exploration Center will gently guide Nordic skiers through the scenic backcountry in the nearby Wasatch-Cache National Forest.

ICE SKATING: An outdoor ice-skating rink is located at The Resort Center, near the base of the Park City Mountain Resort. Named as one of the top ice rinks in Ski magazine.

Guided tours span the five resorts via the backcountry for a fee of $125 per person, which includes guides, lift tickets, transportation back to Park City and lunch.

SILVER MINE ADVENTURE: Discover how Park City's earliest residents lived and made the town one of the largest and most successful mining towns in the country. This authentic mine tour allows visitors the opportunity to go underground 1,500 feet and see for themselves just what miners experienced on a daily basis. A museum above ground has numerous displays explaining Park City's initial "boom," long before skiing was discovered.

SNOWMOBILING:
Snowmobile tours are available for one-hour or up to an all-day adventure. Tour guides lead groups to spectacular vistas via scenic backcountry trails. Self-guided tours and dinner tours are also available.
