Utah Travel Center National ParksYellowstone • Geyser Country

Geyser Country is home to the famous Old Faithful geyser. Visit the Old Faithful Visitor Center to watch an informative film on geysers and their eruptions.

Old Faithful. The best known and most visited feature in the park, even though it is not the largest or most regular, is Old Faithful. Thousands of gallons of steamy water erupt into the sky an average of every 79 minutes. During more than 120 years of observation, Old Faithful has rarely missed an eruption.

Norris and Firehole River Geyser Basins. The largest display of geysers are located just 21 miles south of Mammoth Hot Springs at Norris Geyser Basin. The world's tallest geyser, Steamboat, has unpredictable eruptions. One of the favorites during the summer is Echinus Geyser, which erupts every 20 - 80 minutes and sends a cool mist of water over the viewing platform.

Grand Prismatic Spring. This is Yellowstone's largest hot spring at 370 feet in diameter. The name comes from the deep blue color of the pool, combined with the rings of yellow and orange colored bacteria, which create the look of a prism.

Morning Glory Pool. This beautiful deep blue pool is named after its resemblance to the morning glory flower.
