Mammoth
Country
Mammoth Country extends outward from Mammoth Hot Springs.
This thermal area is home for elk, bison and other wildlife.
This region is home to the Gallatin Range, fossil forests
and many creeks and lakes.
Mammoth
Hot Springs
Mineral rich hot water from deep below the earth's crust
forces its way to the surface and builds tiers of cascading
stone. The terracing continues as thousands of gallons
of water well up depositing up to two tons of limestone
every day. A self-guided trail will take you around
the limestone terraces on a boardwalk. Visit Albright
Visitor Center for more information.
