UTC Points of Interest Geography • Paunsaugunt Plateau

Paunsaugunt Plateau (Garfield County, Kane County) is a sedimentary rock plateau, bounded on the east by the East Fork of the Sevier River. Red Canyon and U-12 is north. The southern boundary of the Paunsaugunt are the Pink, White, and Vermillion cliffs. The Sevier Valley and US-89 is the west boundary. Major Powell named the plateau with a Piute Indian name that means "place or home of the beavers."
