UTC Points of Interest Major • Cleveland Loyd Dinosaur Quarry

Cleveland-Lloyd Dinosaur Quarry (Emery County) is eighteen miles east of Cleveland*. The "Cleveland" half of the name comes from the nearby town. "Lloyd" refers to Malcolm Lloyd, Jr., a Princeton Law School graduate who partially financed research and excavation at the quarry. It was established primarily as an archaeological and research center for students, and the first excavations were made by the University of Utah in 1931. A research center is located at the site.
