Snowbasin

Home of the U.S. National Downhill Championships and the chosen site of downhill competition for the 2002 Winter Olympics, Snowbasin offers nonstop skiing with terrain to suit everyone’s taste. Four triple-chair lifts and one double-chair lift serve 39 runs and 1,800 acres of powder and immaculately groomed runs. All lifts are open to snowboarders.

Location:
From the South and the Salt Lake City International Airport take I-15 North, exit to I-84 east to Mt. Green/Huntsville (#92) and follow the signs to Highway 167. From the north, Snowbasin is 17 miles east of Ogden via 12th Street exit off of I-15, east through Ogden Canyon to State Road 226. From Park City, take I-80 north to I-84 to Echo Junction. Continue west on I-84 to Mt. Green/Huntsville (#96) and follow the signs to Highway 167.

Season and Operating Schedule:Thanksgiving to April (conditions permitting) 9:00 am to 4 PM

Group Rates: Groups of 25 or more. Prior arrangements must be made.

Credit Cards: MasterCard, Visa, American Express, Discover and Sinclair.

Elevation and Vertical Drop: 9,340 ft to 6,400 ft for a lift serviced vertical drop or 2,940 ft.

Snowboarding: All lifts are open to snowboarders. Retaining devices are required.

Runs and Terrain: 55 designated runs included in 3,200 acres of unlimited powder bowls, tree glade skiing. 20 percent novice, 50 percent intermediate, 30 percent expert. 3 terrain parks,  6 lane tubing hill.  1 superpipe  rates.

Average Annual Snowfall: Approximately 400 inches

Lifts
: 2 gondolas, 1 high speed quad, 1 jigback tram, 4 triple chair, and 1 double chair.

Ski Rentals/Ski Shop: Snowbasin Ski Shop has top of the line skis, boards and boots in a wide range of sizes. They also offer a complete line of ski accessories and gifts.

Ski School: Snowbasin’s PSIA Certified Ski School has over 50 instructors that offer private or group lessons daily for all ability levels. Children’s packages, available for full day and half-day lessons, include lift ticket, rentals and group lessons. Call the ski school for further information and reservations, 801-399-4611.

Lodging: Available in Ogden City and Ogden Valley. In Salt Lake, Little America carries packages to Snowbasin. 801-363-6781
